Xiaomi announces that HyperOS will launch in India: compatible devices, features, and more

Xiaomi has revealed another big release for its Indian consumers ahead of the debut of the Redmi Note 13. The business has stated in its most recent release that the new HyperOS for Xiaomi products would begin to roll out in India in January 2024. The flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6 devices will be the first to receive the new OS update, which will replace the company's MIUI system.

In a recent announcement on the X platform, Xiaomi stated that "#XiaomiHyperOS is set to make its debut in India soon." The flagship #Xiaomi13Pro and #XiaomiPad6 will be the first set of devices to receive it, with the rollout starting in January 2024 and promising an entirely new and better user experience.

On October 23, Xiaomi first revealed its new operating system, which came after its launch in China. The new OS is billed as a "human-centric" operating system that will run Xiaomi's entire product line, which includes automobiles, homes, and smartphones. With the goals of achieving end-to-end security, proactive intelligence, cross-end intelligent networking, and low-level refactoring, HyperOS will provide users with a new interface.

With Android 14 integrated and built upon the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), HyperOS aims to maximize the capabilities of Xiaomi smartphones. With its dedicated optimizations for your smartphone and the Xiaomi smart device suite, it offers dependable performance even under taxing conditions, thanks to the open-source Xiaomi Vela system.

Numerous improvements in performance, AI integration, cross-device connectivity, privacy, and security are promised by the new operating system. Users should expect faster startup times, more fluid animations, and better background app retention in terms of performance.

A number of AI-powered capabilities are also introduced by HyperOS, including text generation, text extraction from photos, doodle-to-image conversion, and natural language image search.

HyperOS provides seamless communication between various Xiaomi devices, enabling users to share mobile data, receive calls on other devices, use the rear camera of a smartphone as a laptop webcam, and carry out tasks across devices. Furthermore, HyperOS emphasizes security and privacy with its open-source components, sophisticated encryption, and fine-grained permission management.

Along with these features, the redesigned UI includes an improved Quick Settings menu, an iOS-inspired lock screen, programmable widgets, and a notification system akin to Dynamic Islands. The overall goal of HyperOS is to provide Xiaomi's device ecosystem with a more sophisticated, linked, and secure user experience.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12S, Xiaomi Pad 6, and Poco F5 are among the devices that support HyperOS.


Users who match the requirements for HyperOS are reportedly going to get the update via an over-the-air update. It's crucial to understand that not all users will receive this update at once; rather, it will roll out gradually.
